Inside Fisioflex: the insole that feels like walking barefoot

Every Bibi shoe hides a small piece of paediatric engineering inside: the Fisioflex insole. It's the result of decades of research into how children's feet actually grow — and why they shouldn't be treated like small adult feet.

Why a child's foot isn't a small adult foot

A child's foot is a moving, developing structure — cartilage still becoming bone, muscles still learning to balance and grip. From the first wobbly steps to the playground sprints of a nine-year-old, feet need to flex, spread and feel the ground to grow properly. Stiff, over-built shoes can quietly get in the way.

What Fisioflex actually is

Fisioflex is Bibi's exclusive cushioned insole — ultra-soft, anatomically shaped, and engineered to recreate the barefoot sensation while still protecting little feet from impact. Bibi was the first Brazilian brand to study physiological footwear, bringing paediatricians, orthopaedists, physiotherapists and designers together to evolve anatomical shoes into a new category: physiological footwear, designed around how children's feet naturally develop from 0 to 9 years.

Three things that make it different

  • Barefoot sensation — an ultra-soft, anatomical cushion that lets little feet feel the ground the way nature intended, only better protected.
  • Engineered with paediatricians — co-developed with paediatricians, orthopaedists and physiotherapists to support how children's feet actually grow.
  • Tested at the PUCRS gait lab — validated at one of Brazil's leading human-movement laboratories, where every step is measured before it ever reaches a child's foot.

Exclusive to Bibi

Fisioflex isn't an off-the-shelf component you'll find rebranded across the market. It was designed, tested and refined inside Bibi over decades of paediatric footwear research — and it lives in every pair we make, from first-walkers to school shoes.

  • Developed in-house by Bibi — not licensed, not copied.
  • Fitted in every pair, from first-walkers to school shoes.
  • Validated by independent paediatric and biomechanics research.

Feel it under their first steps

The best way to understand Fisioflex is to put a pair of Bibi shoes on a child and watch them run. The cushioning absorbs the impact, the anatomical shape follows the foot's natural curve, and the toes can splay and grip — exactly as if they were barefoot on a soft floor.
